God is good...all the time; and all the time....God is good! We are grateful for four years of ministry in our renovated facility, which added some much-needed space and accessibility to those with mobility concerns. In addition to hosting Red Cross Blood Drives and a regular Fellowship Luncheon, we have added a 2nd (Contemporary) service to our Sunday schedule. With the blessing of competent leaders and motivated volunteers, we renovated our Parish House, which includes the Church Office, Pastor's Study and rooms for Sunday School and meetings. This past year, we welcomed two new families, with 2 more joined the congregation this past Winter.. Five others will soon become active members of St. Mark. As we are Committed to Connecting Our Community to Christ, we do well to remember that God's plan is for his kingdom to grow:
He also said, "This is what the kingdom of God is like. A man scatters seed on the ground. Night and day, whether he sleeps or gets up, the seed sprouts and grows, though he does not know how. All by itself the soil produces grain—first the stalk, then the head, then the full kernel in the head. As soon as the grain is ripe, he puts the sickle to it, because the harvest has come." (Mark 4)
The growth of God's kingdom through the church is something that God Himself brings about ("all by itself"). Our role is to be fertile soil in which the kingdom can do its work and bear fruit. As we look to the future of St. Mark, we give thanks to God for the opportunity to expand our site with the acquisition of the property next to our church. This new property will allow us to immediately enlarge our parking space and plan for future building expansion as needed. We ask you to pray that the Lord will give us wisdom and guide us. Ask also for yourself a spirit of generosity that seeks to bless his kingdom work by preparing some fertile soil through your regular tithe and special offerings. And remember, God's challenge to give comes with a promise of blessing: "Bring the whole Tithe into the storehouse....and see if I don't pour open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing upon you that you cannot contain it!" (Malachi 3)
